Leica 55mm UV/IR Filter E55 (13413) - Accessory
UV/IR filter made by Leica for all lenses with 55mm filter threads. Originally designed to be used with the Leica M8 because of limited amount of infrared filtering done at the sensor resulting in pinkish blacks and shadows (in certain shooting situations). Blocks both ultraviolet and infrared light from reaching the film/sensor. In general mainly intended to be used with digital cameras that do not have an IR filter of their own in front of the sensor. Can introduce a green color shift at the edge of the frame when used with wide-angle lenses. The Leica M8/8.2 however will compensate for this. Metal body available in black.
